Case Study: Remote Audit, FPSO
Our client, (POVO) required a metering system audit on board the Lewek Emas FPSO in the Chim Sao field, Vietnam.
The Challenge
Conduct an audit of two metering systems: one gas and one condensate, on board the Lewek Emas FPSO in Vietnam, without being able to travel to site.
The scope of the audit was nothing new to either Kelton or POVO. But, because of the limitations of travel during the COVID-19 pandemic, the required audit has to be completed using alternative means.
The Solution
Remote audit solutions from Kelton.
Utilising the latest in connected technologies, the audit was completed remotely by Kelton Measurement Consultant, Ian Reid, based in Aberdeen, UK.
Through the use of a connected and handsfree headset, Ian was able to guide an onsite POVO colleague through the audit process.
Working closely with the customer to prepare and set an agreed audit plan, the combined Kelton and POVO team were able to avoid any potential issues from working remotely, such as time difference and resource availability.
And with the expert guidance from Kelton, the audit was completed on time and with considerable cost savings to POVO as there were no mobilisation or demobilisation involved and no associated costs with travel or self-isolation.

A successful audit and a new way of working.
